Come join the Women in Architecture on August 2nd for a lively panel discussion about the role of women in planning, and share your own views and thoughts about the role of Jane Jacobs in Planning.
1.Attendees will learn about the role of women working in city planning
2.Attendees will learn what is like to be a woman in architecture
3.Attendees will learn about how cities operate when permitting projects

I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design and pursued a career in architecture in Oklahoma City and later in Orange County. Received my architectural license and at the same time in 1995 started my Masters degree in Urban and Regional Planning at California Polytechnic University while employed by the city of Tustin. I worked on over 1400 housing units in the Tustin Legacy master plan. Started working at City of Costa Mesa in 2008 and have been here ever since. I enjoy art and painting as a hobby.
About Panelist Michele Grace Hottel, Architect: Michele Grace Hottel has been drawing since she was very young and after attending California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and the University of Copenhagen began a career in architecture and design working in various firms in San Diego and Los Angeles. She has been practicing Architecture with her own firm, Michele Grace Hottel, Architect since 1994 and is licensed in California and Texas. She is a Commissioner and Subject Matter Expert for the California Architects Board and a City of La Mesa Planning Commissioner.
