Join us for the kick-off of Newhouse After Dark, a new after-hours program. Each month, enjoy the beauty of live art experiences in the oldest building on campus.
Fashion is an integral aspect of our daily life practices and visual landscape. What we wear defines each experience we have; it is both a personal decision and a social marker. Historian Alexis Romano will lead a discussion and brief image-led lecture, followed by a workshop in which participants write their "fashion autobiography." Focus will be given to their experience of dress on Staten Island and their experiences of Staten Island through dress.
Participants encouraged to bring in a garment or photograph to work from.
