The Intima Presents: Life Writing

Come and share inspiring stories about health and healing from writers and clinicians. We're particularly excited about the event because we will also be celebrating an organization that is aligned with our mission to support clinicians and healers: Proceeds from this fundraising event will benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Intima: A Journal of Narrative Medicine is a literary journal dedicated to promoting the theory and practice of Narrative Medicine, an interdisciplinary field that enhances health care through the practice of effective communication skills and strategies to enhance understanding between caregivers, clinicians, and patients.

Works shared from Intima contributors will range in genre from fiction and poetry, to non-fiction and field notes, and will include narratives of illness, health, caregiving, the body, and the interpersonal relationships that join them together.

Established in 1987, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is a voluntary health organization that gives those affected by suicide a nationwide community empowered by research, education and advocacy to take action against this leading cause of death.
