Original works: Improv/Dance Performances at CTE/TAM Drama!
Tam High School's award-winning student theatre company, Conservatory Theatre Ensemble, will present two original works in February. Both pieces are developed by advanced drama students under the direction of two guest artist directors.
The Improv show takes the shape of Long Form Improvisation under the direction of Regina Saisi (BATS, True Fiction Theatre) works with the young actors over a period of weeks on the techniques and skills to tell "A Story That's Never Been Told". At the beginning of the evening, actors take possible titles from the audience and then weaves a story with a variety of characters and plot twists to present and entertaining evening of spontaneous fun!
The second half of the evening will feature and original performance piece entitled "The Void", developed by the students under the direction of guest artist Iu-Hui Chua. Though the performance features words and sounds, the primary story-telling will be physical, highlighting the expressive use of the body to tell a story.
Performances will be at the Daniel Caldwell Theatre located at the back of Tamalpais High School's campus (near Almonte) for three performances only on February 5/7/8 at 7:00 PM. Arrive at 6:30 to pick up your tickets at Will Call and pick your seats when the doors open. Latecomers can be seated at the discretion of the CTE staff when the performance won't be disrupted.
These performances will present the audience with a range of experiences that are sure to exhibit risk taking and skill by the dedicated performers. See you there!
