CIF Presents Ferret, Taco Tuesdays and Thora Birch
The Chicago Improv Festival Presents:
Ferret (Chicago)with Erica Wedes, Scott Tremblay, Matt Mayerle, Luke Jacobs, Dylan Carey, Simon Ahmed. Ferret was born in the thick jungle of the Chicago improv scene. Composed of improvisers from across the country, each with unique backgrounds in comedy and performance, Ferret always stays true to their name by bringing high energy and wildly entertaining shows to Chicago stages. Ferret attacks the stage with passion and a strong commitment to quality performance. Ferret is improv with teeth.
Taco Tuesdays (Chicago)with Kenzie Seibert, Ali Carney, Kate Nolan, Caeli Thoma, Jess Gisin, Mckenzie Morrell Taco Tuesdays is a six member ensemble based out of Chicago. A mix of seasoned and aspiring performers, the ladies of Taco Tuesdays create improv and sketch comedy inspired by their own lives, and the lives of their audience members. We raise our margaritas to the funny, and our coach Ben.
ThoraBirchfrom (The Playground Theatre, Chicago) knows that there's beauty in the breakdown. Using a simple, four scene structure, the gentlemen (Drew Anderson, Derek Van Barham, and Thom Gaughan) play with genre and style to explore complex relationships and dark, dysfunctional characters. Thora offers a unique, alternative perspective: characters burst into song and monologue, players know their campy pop-culture references, and not everyone makes it out of the scenes alive.
