Stephanie Reese Live in Concert
Stephanie Reese was named Artist and Entertainer of the Year by the 2nd Annual AsianPacific Trade Show in Las Vegas, Nevada for her accomplishments in Arts and Entertainmentand rightly so, for she has accomplished a lot.She began singing and acting at an early age in her hometown in Seattle, Washington. Aftermany local productions, she went on to study opera performance at Indiana University andthen Musical Theater at Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music.While Stephanie was studying, she was also performing regionally in the U.S. She was a soloistwith the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra in their Home For the Holidays show. She also performed many other roles including Liat in The St. Louis Muny Theaters South Pacific; atPennsylvanias Struthers Library Theater in Anything Goes; and 110 in the Shade; as well asPrincess Tuptim at the Rogue Music Theaters The King and I in Grants Pass, Oregon.Stephanie made a decision to leave school early to perform when she received the role ofKim in Miss Saigon for the German production and thus began her extensive European career, including the title role of Kim in Miss Saigon in Stuttgart, Germany; the Disney WorldPremiere of The Hunchback of Notre Dame in Berlin directed by James Lapine; performingEsmerelda; and the King and I at the historical London Palladium Theater in the West Endperfoming Princess Tuptim with Jason Scott Lee as the King and Elaine Page as Anna. Shecontinued on to do The King and I First National UK tour with Stefanie Powers as Anna.Other European endeavors include lead vocals in the band, The Hunchies, two original cast recordings (The Hunchback of Notre Dame andthe King and I) as well as numerous AIDS benefits and volunteering for various childrens organizations.Stephanie was also the assistant to the resident director and the childrens casting director for "The King and I" UK First National Tour. In London, Stephanie continued her acting education at the Actors Center for professional actors in Covent Garden. After a successful stay inEurope, Stephanie was excited to move back and make her mark in the US. She continued to study voice with Eileen Manzin (her teacher andmentor) and studied Stankslaski Intensive with Mark Jenkins at the Freehold Actors Studio. Stephanie now lives in Los Angeles, California whereshe writes music and plays and produces her own shows, concerts and productions. In LA, Stephanie was most recently seen in the FountainTheatres production of Master Class as the role of Sophie. She was also seen in Master Class at the Long Beach Playhouse as the role ofSharon. In both productions she received rave reviews.Recently Stephanie also produced, directed and wrote a one-woman show entitled The Journey at the Century Ballroom in Seattle,Washington. The show was filmed by Michael Damian and produced by Tom Weir for Studio City Sound Productions as a documentary DVD.Recently, Studio City Sound Productions released an album of the show entitled Highlights from the Journey and it is now available viaStephanieReese.com and StudioCitySound.com.The Journey also premiered in San Jose just last November and received a wonderful review by the Philippine News.Stephanie also wrote, produced, starred and directed a Christmas musical, The Gifts, which has now premiered on both the West and Eastcoast with a cast of 36 children and sold-out houses on both coasts.Stephanie performs numerous concerts and benefits around the US as well. She recently sang for the opening of the Filipino CentennialCelebration in Hawaii representing ABS-CBN International, A New Years Celebration with Lani Misalucha and Martin Nievera in Las Vegas,opened for the Apo Hiking Society in Las Vegas and frequently performs benefit concerts for Gawad Kalinga - an organization that buildscommunities for the poorest of the poor in the Philippines.Stephanie has toured to the Philippines in 2006 and sang for the Gawad Kalinga villages that have been built as well as continue to fundraise for their worthy cause.She has also taught acting at the Rise n Shine Camp - a camp for children affected by AIDS. She strongly believes in bringing the arts tochildren through interactive performance and classes and has directed and taught children in Northern California in three different productions of Annie.Stephanies second album, The Voice, was just released and is now available on her website. The Voice, shows Stephanies versatile sound ranging from Opera, pop, Broadway, spiritual and cultural music. Stephanie sings in seven different languages and enjoys learning music from around the world. She particularly loves the Kundiman music of the Philippines and plans to make her third album to be the first ever FilipinaAmerican to record the Kundiman songs.
