Wine+Cheese with The Cheese Board Collective and POE wines
Join The Cheese Board Collective and POE Wines for an afternoon of sipping wine, tasting cheese, and learning about both in the process. We will delve into different cheese types and styles, and understand what words like "washed rind" and "affinage" actually mean. Wine and Vermouth will be paired with a range of cheeses allowing you to explore all of the matching possibilities.
Samantha Sheehan founded POE in 2009 after being inspired by the wines she tasted in Burgundy and Champagne. The goal is not to replicate Burgundy, but rather create alluring, vineyard specific, age-worthy wines revealing the beautiful terroir of California. We'll have an opportunity to taste her Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from some of California's most revered far-out vineyards, and a selection from her Ultraviolet line, the 2017 Rosé of Grenache.
This will also be a great opportunity to taste the vermouth concoctions Samantha has devised with chef Michael Emanuel, who greeted guests during his tenure at Chez Panisse with a mouth-watering California take on classic French apertifs. Made from bases of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and a blend of secret spice infusions, the Vin D'Sange, Vin D'Orange and Vin D'Pampe will change the way you see Vermouths, and find a place in any cocktail enthusiast's home bar.
Samantha lives in Napa with her family and is frequently seen sharing her love of wine at the Outland Tasting Room in downtown Napa, along with Matthew Rorick of Forlorn Hope, who last thrilled Cheeseboard guests in March of this year.
These unique wines will also be available for purchase onsite
