San Francicso's Top pop-up Chef is holding two exclusive events at the VUDE
You come to the VUDE for great collaborative "pop-up" dinners, featuring some of Seattle's finest chefs. As the pop-up dining craze grows, we are already looking at expanding the Velvet Underground Dining Experience to other great culinary towns. Hence, our discovery of David Barzelay, of Lazy Bear in San Francisco. One of the most sought after pop-up chefs in the country, David only cooks for about 24 people two weekends out of the month creating 1000 person wait lists for people trying to get a ticket to his dinners. How lucky are we?
Lazy Bear (an anagram of David's last name, "Barzelay") is the highest-rated "New American" restaurant in the entirety of San Francisco according to Yelp.com and was named one of the best underground restaurants in San Francisco. Lazy Bear has served thousands of patrons many hundreds of different dishes. The mailing list has over 7000 subscribers and is growing rapidly.
Hand of God Wines is less than a month in the market and is a collaboration between Jon Staenberg and Santiago Achaval. Dubbed "The Master of Malbec," by Wine Spectator, wine maker, Santiago Achával is the co-founder & winemaker for Hand of God Wines. Santiago fell in love with wines and winemaking during frequent visits to Napa Valley while receiving his MBA from Stanford. Achaval-Ferrer, his winery in Mendoza, boasts four of the five highest rated wines from Argentina (two 99's and three 98's), as awarded by Wine Spectator, and the highest rated Argentine wine to date by Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate.
