Prop & Set Design
This 4 day intensive workshop happens Aug 13-17 (Mon-Thurs) from 10am-4pm. Appropriate for Middle / High School Age students.
Students will learn to create props from re-purposed and inexpensive materials. Then they'll delve into creating hands-on large scale theatrical sets using a variety of set techniques used in real life staging productions. This sets students create will be featured sets and props for a real live Halloween expedition. Students will get credit for their work which could be used as a resume' builder for those serious about getting into the industry. We'll show you how to get your foot in the door for this particular market and have fun making amazing design scapes along the way.
NOTE: There will be an opportunity to continuing to participate in Fall for weekly workshops. Attendees of this Camp will receive a free 1 year membership at Rolling Bay Hall for any of the SAP Digi-tech or iCreate workshops, good until the end of July 2019.
BIO: Jade Castillo, Owner of the SoundArts Project (SAP), wwill be leading the class. Jade was awarded with a full scholarship to the California College of Arts & Crafts in Oakland, CA upon high school graduation. She is the founder of SAP, a local company that produces music based events many with a specified artistic theme, full scale sets and props. Jade will be leading this course along with special guest appearances from various Seattle based theatrical production companies.
