Event
Liberation 2018
Hafa Adai Friends,
Once again, Prubechu is hosting an all you can eat whole roasted pig with live music and craft beer!
July 21st is Guam's 'Liberation Day' celebration. Though the term liberated can be debated what can't be is the fact that it is a community celebration on Guam that has become a tradition for family and friends to gather and remember those who helped our island residents during a time of occupation and war.
As always we'll have a whole roasted pig and several other classic fi'esta style courses that will be all you can eat.
Craft Beer is always a feature of these events. This time around we're proud to be welcoming a friend of ours, Tim Decker of Altbrau. AltBrau is a blog, podcast, and collaborative brewing project. They are focused on traditional, rustic-style beers that are unfiltered, unpasteurized, and conditioned in the bottle or keg.
Tim will be bringing two of his latest creations. Both the beers were created at/by Shady Oak Barrel House in Santa Rosa, CA. Secret Army is a tart mixed culture saison hopped with Czech Saaz, a classic European hop commonly found in Belgian farmhouse beers. New Lexicon is a golden sour ale conditioned with 3 strains of brettanomyces and dry hopped heavily with Ekuanot, a new world hop variety that lends notes of mandarin.
Our parties would not be complete without live music and this time is no different. Our friends Bert Javier and Hank Terlaje will be blessing us with their brand of Chamorro music, island reggae, and all around good vibes...if you've seen these guys before you remember how much fun they are! We're stoked to be having them back.
