Marla offers insight into the mind of someone going through one of life's worst nightmares - breast cancer. She confronts her disease head-on, and approaches this tender subject with her unique brand of humour and sensitivity along with simple, tangible suggestions.
Marla addresses the fact that many people do not know what to say or do when confronted with someone who has cancer. Relationships with family and friends may changesome for the better, some for the worse. Simply put, this inspiring show is about a brave and funny woman facing huge fears and challenges in her own special way.

ABOUT MARLA: The Toronto Star called her "A captivating story teller with lightning-quick comic timing". The Globe and Mail called her a "suave stylish comedian". Gilda's Club says, "Her show will save lives". For the past thirty years, Marla Lukofsky has performed as a stand-up comedian in every major city in Canada, the United States and the UK.
A veteran of television, Marla's credits include Evening at the Improv, The Alan Thicke Show, and CBC's national news show Midday with Valerie Pringle. As a writer and columnist, Marla worked on such shows as CBC radio's Basic Black and The Vicki Gabereau Show. Marla was also a proud member of Second City for one WHOLE month until they realized that she wasn't Andrea Martin and asked her to leave. On Saturday mornings, you can hear Marla's voice on The Care Bears cartoon series as Good Luck Bear. In 1998, Marla was suddenly diagnosed with breast cancer, which had spread to her lymph nodes. She had a lumpectomy and lymph node removal, followed by an aggressive course of chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Since then she has written a memoir called 'I'm Still Hereand so is my Hair!' and a collection of short stories and poems that have been published in several medical journals. In them she talks about her cancer experiences in a unique manner with honesty, frankness and humour.
Marla is currently giving inspirational speeches across North America and most recently at TEDx Talks in India and Toronto in the hopes of helping others. "If I can touch even one person, and have them feel that they are not alone, then I have succeeded."
