Two By Woody: Riverside Drive and Central Park West
The Custom Made Theatre Company presents two comedic plays by the master of comic angst, Woody Allen. Both set in New York, the city he knows so well, Woody has crafted two hilarious stories of infidelity, reality and the desperate attempt to find identity.
Directed by Brian Katz
In "Riverside Drive" (Bay Area Premiere!) Fred Savage, a homicidal, paranoid, schizophrenic vagrant ex-copywriter, has been stalking Jim, a screenwriter for weeks, convinced that his prey stole his idea - in fact, his life - to create a successful movie plot. Hilarity ensues as Fred channels orders from the top of the Empire State Building (along with other radio waves) that command him to fix Jims marriage, save his career, and blackmail him for a million dollars.
In "Central Park West", a well to do psychiatrist has just discovered that her best friend is having an affair with her husband. She has invited the friend over for a confrontation after getting thoroughly soused. Meanwhile, the husband is about to run off with a college student, and it seems, half of Manhattan. Central Park West provides an hour of constant hilarity!
"A wealth of laughter."-N.Y. Newsday
