Автор сценария - Наум Ихильевич Клейман, один из крупнейших специалистов по творчеству С. М. Эйзенштейна. Фильм снят к 100-летию со дня рождения и 50-летию со дня смерти Сергея Энзенштейна. Фильм принял на вооружение многие из авторских методов своего героя. Он сочетает вновь отснятый материал и хронику, фотографии и отрывки из художественных фильмов. Организованный в хронологическом порядке, фильм меняет движение, когда рассказывает о последних днях Эйзенштейна, когда, преследуемый и отчаявшийся, он продолжал работать неистово.

The documentary "Eisenstein: the Master's House" honors Russia's great film pioneer. It is chock-full of fascinating facts and made with a skill and intelligence that the maestro himself would have approved. Adopting many of Eisenstein's own techniques, "Master's House" is a mélange of new and period footage, still photographs and feature films. Organized chronologically, it is especially moving as it recounts Eisenstein's last days when, harassed and despairing, he continued to work furiously. In Russian with English subtitles.
