The Hamlet Project: New York
Shakespeare. Drinking. Hipsters.
The Hamlet Project is a Shakespeare drinking game. Yes, you read that right.
The Hamlet Project is a collision of tragedy and comedy, classic text and pop culture, high-minded ideals and low-brow antics that occurs when you perform Shakespeare's play in a bar and add audience participation and delicious libations. All in under two hours!
MARCH 27th and 28th, 2013 at 8PM THE EXLEY BAR 1 Jackson Street, Williamsburg, Brooklyn
There's a different Hamlet every time. This month:
Hamlet Project: New York - ROUND ONE: THE CITY THAT NEVER SLEEPS featuring David Hudson as Hamlet
directed and produced by Beth Gardiner
also featuring: Greg Beam as Laertes Kate Britton as Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Jose Cagigal as Host and others Ciara Griffin as Ophelia Kim McKean as Gertrude Paul Kite as Claudius Edward Tournier as Horatio Erika Weinheimer as Host and Others
The Hamlet Project was born in Los Angeles in 2011 when director Beth Lopes and producer/actor Jesse Sharp decided to produce Hamlet as a drinking game at St. Nick's Pub. Hamlet Project: LA has been going strong for over a year and has now spread east. Hamlet Project: Chicago launched earlier this year.
Now Hamlet has come to New York. Watch out. You've never seen HAMLET like this before.
NOTE: The Hamlet Project asks that attendees please drink responsibly and utilize public transportation or a designated driver. The Hamlet Project and The Exley assume no liability for irresponsible drinking...so please drink responsibly...and have fun! 21 and over!
