Experimental folkpop duo Christy & Emily is comprised of Christy Edwards, a self taught indierocker and Emily Manzo, a classically trained pianist. Formed in Brooklyn in the mid 2000's their first album, Gueen's Head was released on the The Social Registry in 2007, displaying all the core elements of the C&E sound; raw emotional songwriting coupled with sonic experimentation. A shared bill in NYC would introduce them to Robert Lloyd, lead singer of John Peel favorites, the Nightingales. A European tour followed, and a second full length release, Superstition, on Llyod's label, Big Print. Concerts in Germany brought C&E to the attention of Joachim Irmler, famed keyboardist for Krautrock legends, Faust. The invitation to record for his label, Klangbad, resulted in two more releases, the lush keyboard heavy, No Rest, and a rock album, TicTac Toe, featuring drummer Kristin Mueller (of Lucinda Blackbear, Gloria Deluxe ) and bassist Peter Kerlin ( of the Chris Forsyth Solar Motel Band). Also with this lineup, they released a split 7 inch called Quick Words, paired with Ecstatic Peace artists, Talk Normal. Most recently, in a return to their duo sound, Christy&Emily released another split 7 inch entitled Two Rooms.

Dan Melchior is a singer/songwriter/guitarist who grew up in Shepperton (just outside London), England and is often labeled a 'garage rock' musician. He has appeared on 30+ recordings as a solo performer, a collaborator with Billy Childish and Holly Golightly and as a member of Dan Melchior's Broke Revue.

Top down, tunes up and cruising out of the Jersey suburbs into yr heart are Garcia Peoples and their debut LP Cosmic Cash on Beyond Beyond is Beyond. Originally a quartet (Tom Malach and Danny Arakaki on guitars, Cesar Arakaki on drums, Derek Spaldo on bass) but recently beefed up into a five-piece with PG Six (Tower Recordings, Wet Tuna) on keys, Garcia Peoples are just what our little psychedelic corner of the world needs right nowfun.
Cosmic Cash effortlessly heaves joy. The low-key vocal hooks and melodies snag you quickly and dont let go, not unlike mid-period NRBQ but loaded up on youthful longing and hallucinogens rather than RC Cola and Moon Pies.
And then there are the jams, oh the jams! More reined in than recent live action, Cosmic Cash delivers sparkling twin leads, barreling keys and bubbling rhythms recalling the Deads tightest, most simple studio work, the Allmans most radio-friendly moments and the Bands early 70s output.
