Need more humor in your life? There really is humor in almost any situation, but how do we find it? All it takes is a bit of mental twist to look at your world in a funny way. Its been 11 years since cartoonist Leigh Rubin first encouraged Central Coast Lifelong Learners to discover the humor in our own lives . Now hes back to encourage us to mentally stepping out of our normal routines and into our very own twistedly absurd and funny world.
Leigh Rubin can be characterized as a sit-down comedian. With Rubes syndicated in over 400 newspapers and media outlets worldwide, he certainly makes plenty of people laugh. As an artist, where does he find the inspiration for those slightly off-center cartoons that always provide a refreshing slant on our world? Leigh will present a gallery of his work for discussion with the group. Bring a pencil, eraser, and pad to try your hand at cartooning. A book signing will follow.
Leigh Rubin is the creator of the syndicated comic strip, Rubes. Born in New York and raised in Southern California, he knew from age 5 that he would be an artist. In addition to his media publications, Rubin has also published 19 books and 16 calendars.
