SLO Village is a virtual community, a nonprofit membership organization for people 60+ who want to create a better experience of aging. Members live in their own homes and rely on volunteers for practical services that support their independence. Members and volunteers come together as peers to create a purposeful and powerful space for living and learning as they take on the future.
This class is your chance to get an update about what is happening with SLO Village! Come find out how we can help you stay in your home and/or help others to do the same and have lots of fun while doing so.
SLO Village connects members to verified volunteers who can provide transportation, run errands, make minor home repairs, help in the garden, be a walking buddy and more. Members meet other members through social events and informative classes. You will have more chances to meet interesting people and make new friends.
SLO Village has just passed its one year anniversary and is going strong.
Linda R. Beck's experience includes her service as an Ombudsman with the San Luis Obispo County Office of the Long Term Care Ombudsman and as a member of the Leadership Council for the National Consumer Voice for Quality Long-Term Care. She holds a certificate in Patient Advocacy from UCLA Extension, and earned her J.D from Hastings College of the Law. Linda continues to work part-time as a construction lawyer with Best Best & Krieger.
