Corky Siegel & Marcella Detroit will each be performing their famed singer-songwriter repertoire together with both on blues harp and piano, and with Marcella on guitar and ukulele, in a rare intimate evening with two of the countrys most dynamic virtuosos and originators.
Marcella Detroit:
1. Co-wrote Lay Down Sally and toured with Eric Clapton for 7 years and contributed songs for his albums
No Reason to Cry, Slowhand and Backless.
2. Wrote and / or sang with Aretha Franklin, Burt Bacharach, Chaka Khan, Bob Seger, Leon Russell.
3. Recorded a CD with Elton John.
4. Was a member of the hit band Shakespears Sister with Siobhan Fahey of Bananarama
Corky Siegel, of The Siegal Schwall band, is known internationally as one of the worlds great blues harmonica players, and is a celebrated composer, blues pianist, singer, songwriter, band leader and author. Born Mark Paul Siegel in Chicago in 1943, Corkys professional music career began when he founded the now legendary Siegel-Schwall Band in Chicago in 1964 with guitarist Jim Schwall. The group was a major component of the young generation of white blues artistsalso including Paul Butterfield, Charlie Musselwhite, Harvey Mandel, Barry Goldberg, Nick Gravenites and Michael Bloomfieldwho learned the historic Chicago blues style at the feet and hands of such towering figures as Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, Little Walter, and Willie Dixon
