New York Women-War and Patriotism Opening Night Party

The Mount Vernon Hotel Museum on East 61st Street was built in 1799, and witnessed New York women during wartime. Celebrate the opening of New York Women, War & Patriotism, 1812-1918, with refreshments and music from the Great War. This new exhibit explores the the role of women in the war effort throughout our nations history, with a special focus on the War of 1812 and World War I. Enjoy an after-hours evening in the Museum, and meet the descendants of Hildreth Meière, mural artist, designer, and member of The Colonial Dames of America. Meière was one of the thousands of women who enlisted in the Navy during WWI and her story is featured in the exhibit. Enjoy a special selection of songs from the era performed by Paul Errico. Included with $8 Museum admission; free for Museum Members.
