"The Songs We Hide," a new novel by Tacoma author Connie Connally, explores the role of music and art in maintaining community and sanity during the years of Hungary's domination by the Soviet Union. Come hear Ms. Connally read excerpts from her book and listen to the exciting music of this hidden land, performed by the talented Girsky Quartet.
Formed in 2012, the Girsky string quartet is one of the most exciting new string ensembles in the Pacific Northwest, with violinists Artur Girsky and Natasha Bazhanov (from the Seattle Symphony), violist Julie Whitton (also from Seattle Symphony), and cellist Rowena Hammill (from the Los Angeles opera). They have already had their ensemble debut on 98.1 King FM and have performed extensively on the West Coast. Join us for an unforgettable evening of string quartet heaven at our traditional concert venue of Annie Wright School's Great Hall.

The Walla Walla-based Delft Trio is joined by violist Elizabeth Oakes to perform two of the most renowned piano quartets in the literature, the Brahms G minor and Fauré C minor.

Over the past two decades, Second City's Young Chamber Players (YCP) has played a vital role in bringing up the next generation of excellent, young musicians. Over the years, the YCP program has introduced hundreds of gifted students to the delights of chamber music through professional coaching and performance opportunities. Come hear this year's selection of talented young chamber musicians in their annual showcase chamber music recital. This year's concert will be particularly stunning due to a special collaboration with singers of the internationally-touring Tacoma Youth Chorus.
NOTE: Please note that this Season subscription does not include the SCCS annual fundraiser on August 12th, 2018. We would love to see you there, too! Tickets to the fundraiser can be purchased separately on Brown Paper Tickets.
