The Jazz Bastards are a NYC quintet featuring Matt Kanelos, Aldo Perez, Jenny Mitchell, Nick Parker and Glen Heroy. The use of toys, costume, spoons, tap and electronics mix with the 4 Jazz Bastard vocalists for a weird yet reverent cocktail. A widely sought-after collaborator in the New York City jazz, avant garde and rock worlds, pianist and songwriter Matt Kanelos draws equally from both his music conservatory background and his 20 years of experience in the folk and experimental music scenes of New York and Chicago. In recent years, he has performed and recorded with Carol Lipnik, Jenifer Jackson, Jon Lundbom, Lorraine Leckie, Richard McGraw, Andrew Smiley, Nick Podgurski, and Jason Liebman. Kanelos has released four well-received albums as a bandleader, most recently 2014's Love Hello, praised by New York Music Daily as "a masterpiece of pensive, allusively lyrical psychedelia."

Glen Heroy was a professional clown in The Big Apple Circus, was featured in the documentary Circus on PBS, and is the official clown for Opera on Tap. A veteran Santa Claus at Macys Santaland, Glen is author of the memoir I, Santa.

Jenny Lee Mitchell is a vaudevillian and singer/musician who performed her way throughout Europe in musicals and operetta before returning to her city of birth, creating her aliases Mad Jenny a Weimar Vaudevillian and satirist (premiere at Pangea) and Muffy Styler, a drunk jazz singer/comedian who regularly hosts variety shows at the Slipper Room.smart and theatrically savvy NYTimes

"This lots sarcasm makes the future safe for sentiment and strikes sour notes that leave nothing but sweet memories."  - Adam McGovern, HiloBROW
