About Sag Harbor Cinema Arts Center, A Project of the Sag Harbor Partnership:
For over 100 years, there was a movie theater on Main Street, Sag Harbor, NY. Then came the fire on December 16, 2016. Now only the back portion of the Sag Harbor Cinema is left. The Sag Harbor Partnership, after months of fundraising, has purchased the Cinema from its longtime owner as of January 10th.
The Sag Harbor Cinema Arts Center will restore the Sag Harbor Cinema and preserve the showing of independent, foreign and documentary films on the East End of Long Island. Rebuilding will save Main Street, keeping it local and real. Education, programming and outreach for people of all ages will ensure that the Cinema is here for the next 100 years.
