Next Stage Cooks: SOUTH INDIAN DOSAS
SOUTH INDIAN DOSAS
WHAT IS A DOSA? A dosa is a rice and lentil crepe with a seductively sour, tangy flavor and airy, crisp texture. Gluten-free, dairy-free, and fermented, dosas are fun to eat, addictively delicious, and endlessly adaptable. Just about anything you'd put between two slices of bread can fit into a dosa!
Please join us for an evening of making dosas with Leda and Nash, the owners of Dosa Kitchen, a very successful food truck parked Wednesday through Sunday from 12 - 3 at the Retreat Farm next to Grafton Village Cheese in Brattleboro. This will mainly be a demonstration class where Leda and Nash will show you how to make dosas, yet everyone will have a chance to make their own dosa and try them. They will also teach you how to make some of their favorite fillings and chutneys from the book, which you can enjoy with your dosas. By the end of the class you should be confident to be able to go home and make dosas on your own and you will have learned several South Indian cooking techniques. The food will include vegetarian, vegan, and omnivore options.
ADDED BONUS! Leda and Nash just came out with a cookbook, Dosa Kitchen, which retails for $18.99. For this night only, class attendees will be able to purchase a copy of the cookbook for $15.00. Buy one or more for holiday gifts.
