CINDY KALLET and GREY LARSEN are nationally renowned folk musicians whose repertoire includes distinctive settings of traditional Irish music, Scandinavian fiddle duets, old-time fiddle and guitar tunes from southern Indiana, and new music that Cindy and Grey are inventing together.
In an "All Things Considered" interview on NPR Grey explained, "The roots of traditional music go way back, sometimes many generations, but it's a continuous lineage that has never stopped. It's an unbroken living tradition that is going through a golden age right now, where people are learning the older tunes and then creating new tunes that enter back into the tradition. It's totally relevant to us and reaching out and understanding people in other cultures." Cindy added, "We get to play all of these kinds of music that are so close to our hearts, and it's a real joy."
Doors will open at 7:30pm, Bennett Konesni and Edith Gawler will open the show at 8pm and the Sylvester Manor Worksongers will join Cindy and Grey for the grand finale!
