Cinco de Mayo Food and Wine Celebration

At this hands on fiesta food event, we'll make and taste authentic Mexican fiesta foods including guacamole, salsa, sofrito rice, fish tacos, and flan. Pair it all with sangria, a rich, fruity wine punch made with Signature Wines' Rosé. Wine maker Kelly Harvey will share the recipe and know-how so you can make up your own batch at home.

For dessert, we'll taste traditional Mexican creamy flan with Signature Wines' port. Kelly will discuss with us why rich port is such a nice pairing for this Hispanic dessert.

As a grand finale, you'll learn how to make your own cascarones, Mexican confetti-filled egg shells--according to Mexican fiesta tradition, cracking them over a friend's head is reputed to bring them good luck...and for sure a bunch of colorful fun as the confetti showers down!

Along the way we'll discuss and demonstrate ways to re-purpose your existing party goods, with a few inexpensive new items to create your own distinctive Cinco de Mayo party ambiance.
