We All Have It: Ensemble Showcase
During "We All Have It," you'll experience the trance-inducing word-sound magic of Tanya Evanson's ZENSHIP, followed by a performance of new individual and collaborative works presented by the Word Camp Intensive Ensemble!
ZENSHIP is a one-woman, word-sound séance inspired by The Ten Bulls progression of short poems and accompanying pictures used in Zen Buddhism to illustrate stages of enlightenment. The Ensemble Showcase will feature a mixture of new individual and collaborative works that combine music, movement, and spoken word, created under the influence of the Word Camp faculty of artists with direction from Evanson and the Word Camp creative team.
TANYA EVANSON is an Antiguan-Canadian writer, performer and educator from Tiohtià :ke/Montreal. A graduate of Concordia University Creative Writing and director of The Banff Centre Spoken Word Program, she has released four audio recordings including the latest project ZENSHIP (Mother Tongue Media 2016) which has been performed internationally as a solo and group piece at Suoni per il Popolo, Black Speculative Arts Montreal, Banff Centre, Ubud Writers Festival, Tasmanian Poetry Festival, Edinburgh Book Festival and Glastonbury Festival.
