"SASSY, AFFECTIONATE, FUNNY, POIGNANT AND ULTIMATELY MOVING! - Portland Phoenix, April 24, 2012
"A VERY WELL-CAST, WACKY AND SURPRISINGLY TOUCHING COMEDY! Having seen most of the six actors in other roles over the years, it's hard to remember when any of them have appeared to fit better and enjoy themselves any more than here." - Portland Press Herald - April 22, 2013
DRAMATIC REPERTORY COMPANY presents Adam Bock's award-winning comedy that is unlike anything you have seen before!
Barb discovers that some Buddhist monks in Thailand only own eight things -- and wonders if that is all she wants. She starts giving away her things but her husband Bob keeps buying her new ones. Donna wants Carla Carla to marry her, but Carla Carla doesn't like that Donna smokes - or is it something more? Serial-dating Nick meets a shark at the aquarium -- they go out to the beach and Nick tries not to sleep with the shark too fast.
DRC is extremely proud to present an all-star local ensemble in this hilarious look at gay weddings, heterosexual marriages, American Capitalism and the consequences of a love affair with a top-level ocean predator.
"A screwy little jewel of a play ... It's as unconventional a conventional look at love as you'll find." - The New York Times
"A sweetly absurdist view of life ... By staying resolutely in shallow, frolicsome waters, the play manages to achieve something unexpectedly, if quietly, profound." - Village Voice
