Active Hope: staying sane during madness
All Macy workshops follow the spiral which is: Hope, grief for the world, seeing with new eyes and going forth or action stepsand back to hope.In that progression things do build upon previous material which is why I cannot let people come to only part of the day. So this is a whole day workshop. To release some of the heavy grief we carry for this world, to gain new perspective, to become more hopeful, to have new ways of thinking about how to make change, to have renewed purpose.I cannot think of a better use of a day. Also this is community building. There is a very powerful grief ritual at the heart of this. I will also share with you my thinking around how I maintain hope in the face of very dire information about climate change. Joannas workshop is not specific to climate change so it is also possible during this workshop to release grief about what is happening to our democracy, about our sick immigration policies, trade wars, support of dictators around the world, etc, etc.
