Bobby D and Peggy Lee: Together Again!
On April 27, 1973 the final episode of THE BOBBY DARIN SHOW aired on NBC with Peggy Lee as the only guest. It was one of Darin's final performances, as he died 8 months later. Bellevue Civic Theatre is thrilled to partner with Purple Phoenix Productions to recapture the magic of that particular broadcast by teaming Seattle entertainers Bob De Dea and Lindsey Larson for a new tribute concert, BOBBY D AND PEGGY LEE: TOGETHER AGAIN!!! performing at the Theatre at Meydenbauer Center July 12-20.
Working with a live nine-piece jazz band, De Dea and Larson - having performed solo tribute concerts to Darin and Lee - will sing many of the songs made famous by these iconic entertainers, and will recreate some of the duets these celebrated friends shared in concerts and nightclubs.
Among the Bobby Darin hits included are "Dream Lover", "Lazy River", "Splish Splash", "If I Were A Carpenter", "Beyond The Sea" and his signature hit "Mack The Knife".
Songs that Miss Lee made famous that you'll hear include "Big Spender", "I'm A W-O-M-A-N", "Alright, Okay, You Win", "I Love Being Here With You", "It's A Good Day", "He's A Tramp" and her signature hit "Fever".
DeDea and Larson will join forces on several medleys, with salutes to Broadway show tunes, the songs both of them recorded, and songs that were composed by Darin and Lee, who were prolific songwriters as well as vocalists.
