Troilus and Cressida Presented by Children's Shakespeare Theatre
The Rogues of C.S.T. present-
Troilus + Cressida -- a woven story of two scripts by William Shakespeare & Euripides Many have told the story of the Trojan War. Shakespeare revolved his tale around a love story, and Euripides told his version from the point of view of the women of Troy who become captives and slaves when the war is done. Shakespeare's story is labeled a comedy, but Hector dies so this is not true. We have decided to put our story together as a tragedy with many comical elements. There is a love story, many exciting fights with swords, spears and shields, and, yes, death. And interwoven throughout Shakespeare's poetry is the stark commentary of the Greek Chorus of women who prophecy the ending and watch Troy burn. Join the Rogues for an exciting evening and an entirely new adventure as they dip into the passionate world of the ancient Greeks. Incorporating video and modern music and epic fight work, it promises to be an evening to remember! Troilus + Cressida plays on April 5, 6, 12 & 13 @ 7:00pm
