Andy T Band and Alabama Mike
Playhouse Boise presents fabulous blues guitarist Andy T and his band featuring established Chicago Blues style vocalist Alabama Mike. Andy T was a highlight of last year's Boise Blues Festival with Andy's state-of-the-art guitar chops leading the way, and joined with powerful vocalist Alabama Mike recently. This is going to be another terrific Boise Blues Society show!
The Andy T Band now includes long sought-after guitarist and producer Anson Funderburgh, who formed Anson and the Rockets in 1978 and has gone on to capture numerous Blues Music Awards. He played a rocking show in Boise last fall with Mark Hummel and others.
ENTER ALABAMA MIKE
Upon Nick Nixons 2016 retirement, Andy T and the band enlisted Alabama Mike Benjamin as lead singer. Mike is a dynamic, energetic vocalist who strongly connects with his audience. The group has been extremely well received, a highlight being the 2016 King Biscuit Festival.
Alabama Mike is a true force on the microphone with his first rate, church house tenor. He delivers a sound that will remind you of a young BB King, Buddy Guy, Elmore James, and Little Johnny Taylor.
This pairing is a force to be reckoned with and will not disappoint. This is one of the best touring bands on the circuit and a collaboration that cannot be missed! The band recently completed a new album, produced by longtime friend and often time band member Funderburgh.
