Watson,Beldock, and Beach at The GO!
The modern folk-trio, Watson, Beldock, and Beach performs an acoustic blend of original folk, blues, and jazz. Together, the three are known for their dazzling musicianship, beautiful harmonies, and humorous stage presence. Peggy Watson is known for her wide vocal range and her smooth emotional voice that effortlessly moves between contemporary folk, smoky jazz, or melodic show tunes. She is an award-winning songwriter and has released nine CDs of mostly original music. In a review of her most recent CD, A Good Life, George Varga of the San Diego Union Tribune wrote, Watsons purity of tone, pinpoint control and glorious range are matched throughout by her unerring good taste. David Beldock and Peggy Watson have collaborated as singers and songwriters for 20 years. Beldock is widely recognized as one of San Diegos leading guitarists. A reviewer in the L.A. Times wrote Beldock pushes the rhythmic wagon with some of the most cracklin country/jazz solos and fills youll hear anywhere. Beldock is also a top-notch songwriter who has received awards from the international John Lennon songwriting contest and Dr. Demento. Paul Beach is a gifted musician (bass player) who worked with the late singer/songwriter Larry Robinson as well as many other renowned local performers. In the past, Beach toured with major bands in all 50 states and throughout the world. His credits include tours with Gary Puckett, Spanky and Our Gang, the Association, and the Mamas and the Papas.
BREAKING NEWS! Peggy Watson, David Beldock, and Paul Beach have decided to donate proceeds from their concert to Border Angels, a San Diego based all-volunteer, non-profit organization. Border Angels advocates for human rights, humane immigration reform, and social justice. Border Angels is dedicated to preventing unnecessary immigrant deaths through desert water drops and border rescue stations. Border Angels also provides free immigration services and consultations in its offices at the Sherman Heights Community Center. Furthermore, Border Angels visits day laborers around the greater San Diego area to check on their welfare, ensure that they are fed and that they are aware of their legal rights. Border Angels also provides a number of educational and community awareness programs.
