Jazz Healing Force of the Universe

Annual Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival, presented by the Central Brooklyn Jazz Consortium at venues from Coney Island to Williamsburg in Brooklyn.
This month long celebration is New York City's longest continually running grass roots festival dedicated to jazz.
The programming presents internationally known and local musicians performing in clubs, community venues, colleges, faith based and cultural institutions throughout the borough.
Brooklyn has a rich jazz history and it's legacy is celebrated every April, nationally known as Jazz Appreciation Month. More than 500 artists will be performing in over 40 events throughout the borough.
Jeff King Band, Dr. Mambo and the Experience Ensemble, and Denroy Morgan with the Anthem Band.

Jeff  King  -      is an exciting tenor player who is capturing the jazz world with his fresh approach. He has studied with Frank Foster, Sonny Redd, Billy Mitchel and majored in the Jazz program at Queens College. He has recorded and performed with, Richard Davis, Mike Maneri, Laura Nyro ,Abdullah Ibrahim Dollar Brand, Craig Harris,TK Blue, Albert Dailey,John Hicks,
Reggie Workman,Renee McClean,
Duane Eubanks just to name a few.The current version of the band brings back all that was good about Jazz sextet swinging hard with great new arrangements and originals. Close your eyes and you are listening to the Messengers at the Old Blue Note. More http://www.jazzking.net/home.html

Dwight Brewster  -       Since Dwight's relocation back to The New York City he's not sitting still. Dwight has gathered all the necessary elements together in revamping his production, marketing, and promotion techniques with Dr Mambo and the Experience Ensemble and "The World of Jazz" radio program. Dwight's magic is in his ability to use a "World Format" to perform some exquisite African Caribbean Jazz music. How he blends Classic R&B, Classic Jazz with Salsa and African Polyrhythms is amazing. The blending sets up some fantastic listening and dance music. With the core group of musicians who share Dwight's passion for the music this group of gentlemen have developed a very unique style. The music can only be learned through a combination of music as played in the streets of the Bronx or Brooklyn NYC on any given summer day. Denroy Morgan  -         had started in the 1970s and created the Black Eagles, a reggae band in New York City in 1974 with Devon "Igo Levi" Foster and Llewellyn "Jah T" Breadwood.  The Black Eagles won the New York Reggae Music Festival in 1977, beginning Denroy's rise to fame that continued into the early 1980s. In 1981, Morgan had his most successful release with "I'll Do Anything For You," which featured musical backing from the Black Eagles and peaked at number nine on the American soul chart.[1] "I'll Do Anything For You" also peaked at number seven on the dance charts.[2] These successes helped to launch his solo reggae career. Denroy Morgan found success in the States in 1981 with the release of his I'll Do Anything for You album, when the title track became a big R&B and Dance hit. In the realm of reggae, however, Morgan's peak period was when he signed in 1984 with RCA Records. That deal led to the release of the reggae album Make My Day and marked him as the first reggae artist to be signed to RCA Records.
