The 2013 Cabaret Cares Gala Benefit
Cabaret Cares the monthly benefit series concludes its season on May 19th with the annual gala evening at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. Cabaret Cares is the monthly benefit series created and produced by Joseph Macchia to raise funds for Help Is On The Way Today a non for profit that helps and assists children living HIV and AIDS in New York City.
Help Is On The Way Today was founded to help children living with HIV and AIDS. Since its start over 5 years ago the organization has grown from helping 22 children to over 650 children. The organization helps with school supplies,holiday gifts, medical equipment, and other special needs. Since its start seven years ago Cabaret Cares has raised over $74,000.
On May 19th 2013 the Cabaret Cares Gala will be held at The Laurie Beechman Theatre. The Gala will honor Tom Gamblin with the 2013 Spirit Award. Past recipeints have been Eric Michael Gillett,Doreen Montalvo,and Valerie Smaldone. Also being honored that evening will be Peter Leavy with the 2013 Ruth Kurtzman Cabaret Cares Lifetime Achievement. Last years recipient was Marilyn Maye.
The evening will feature performances by performers who have appeared in this years series.Such as Julie Reyburn,Susan Winter,Eric Michael Gillett,Lorinda Listiza,and more.
The evening will begin with a cocktail hour at 5pm. Then at 6pm a lovely buffet dinner will be served.At 7:30 the live auction begins featuring items such as Jewelry, Trips,Memrobilia,and more. Then at 8pm its show time.
Tickets include Cocktail Hour,Dinner,Unlimited Beer,Wine,Soda,and specialty cocktail,and gift bags for all. Tickets are $125.
