Train The Trainer Opportunity
Alberta Childrens Services adopted FCS to help staff and caregivers understand and support the strengths and developmental needs of children and youth, as well as understand the impact trauma, loss and grief have had on them and their families. FCS is a set of five educational models to provide introductory training to caregiver. The modules are: brain development; child development; the impact of trauma; understanding loss and grief; and healing and resilience for Indigenous Peoples and communities. FCS training aims to shift thinking from what is wrong with this child? to a more trauma-informed, what has happened to this child? This 'Train the Trainer' session will train a consortium of trainers, who will be equipped to train their own agency staff and caregivers.
