Connla in Concert
Connla is an exciting new Irish band, with strong traditional roots as well as influences from across the globe. Their sensitive and innovative arrangements of traditional and modern folk songs and tunes have earned them praise across the folk community, and they have been garnering fans across the UK, Ireland, Europe and the US. Hailing from the cities of Armagh and Derry, Ciara McCafferty (vocals), Ciaran Carlin (whistles), and Paul Starrett (guitar) are familiar faces on the Northern Irish music scene. Joining them are Armagh siblings Emer and Conor Mallon on harp and uilleann pipes. The band formed while they were studying Music at Ulster University.
Come out on Friday, September 21, to see them live at Eagles Hall in Fort Bragg, CA, in a benefit concert for our local public radio station, KZYX. The doors open at 6:30PM, and the music starts at 7:30PM. Come early and enjoy a pint of homebrewed beer or a glass of local wine or cider!
