April 20, 2013: Celebrate spring at Stone Barns Center's annual Sheep Shearing Festival!
* Take a front-row seat to observe and ask questions as our farmers shear our Finn-Dorset sheep * Watch spinners at work * Learn to comb and card wool * Try your hand at using a drop spindle or a mini-loom * Enjoy felting and knitting activities * Join our farmers and educators for tours, farm demonstrations and hands-on activities * Sample a variety of sheep's milk cheeses and yogurts * Delicious lunch options available for cash purchase from local vendors
Sheep Shearing is presented with support from Whole Foods Market. For the safety of our farm animals, we have a strict No Dogs policy on the entire property during Sheep Shearing Festival. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
