Paride ed Elena (Paris and Helen)
In Odyssey Opera's fully staged production of his third reformed opera, Christoph Willibald Gluck with a libretto by Ranieri de' Calzabigi, we have the story of the events between the Judgment of Paris and his flight with Helen to Troy. Paris, after choosing Venus as the fairest of the goddesses, is rewarded with the promise of the love of the most beautiful woman in the world: Helen of Troy. Upon meeting, love sparks and they will defy everything to be together. But when gods intervene in the lives of mortals, can there be a happy ending?
