Ars Nova Holiday Concert: "In the Moon of Wintertime"
Free your earthbound imagination with the Colorado premiere of "The Consolation of Apollo" by Kile Smith. This work celebrates the 50th anniversary of the 1968 Christmas Eve broadcast by the crew of Apollo 8, as they became the first astronauts to leave Earth's orbit, circle the moon, and photograph the entire earth.
The second half of the program offers unusual, rarely heard music for the holiday season with Ars Nova's unique flair, balancing novelty, tradition, and familiar melodies with unique sounds.
