The Big Whoop-De-Doo!
In celebration of our first summer back at Theater on the Lake, join us as we sashay, swing and do-si-do in this newly renovated historic lakefront venue!
In the 1930's and 1940's, after serving as a tuberculosis sanitorium, Theater on the Lake became home to the Chicago Park District's vibrant and historic square dance scene. Summer Barn Dances were THE place to be, enjoying the open air breeze and cool lake view.
With a nod to our past, we invite you to visit our beautiful new space and dance the night away. Featuring by The Golden Horse Ranch Band third-generation square dance caller Annie Coleman will lead you through dances new and old, blending the traditions of called dances.
The evening will close with an unparalleled view of the Navy Pier fireworks. Bring a blanket and scope out a spot on the lawn or watch with a cocktail from the terrace. Either way, you're sure to have a memorable night!
No dance experience required!
Festive dress encouraged!
Cash bar serving beer, wine and cocktails. The Lakefront Restaurant will be serving their full menu. Reservations strongly encouraged.
**THIS EVENT IS NOW ALL AGES BECAUSE FAMILIES BELONG TOGETHER.**
