Moody Little Sister (Naomi Hooley and Rob Stroup) return to the Arts Center
Naomi and Rob have moved to Truth or Consequences, NM since we last had them at the Arts Center, so we're particularly delighted that their touring schedule coincided with the dates we had.
When Naomi Hooley moved 3000 miles from a small town in Alaska the chances of meeting Rob Stroup, from a small town in Oregon, were pretty slim. But it happened and from the moment they met it was clear they were destined to combine their abundant musical talents. Rob is the perfect producer, co-writer and band mate for Naomis melodic, energetic and thoughtful songs. A prolific song writer with a unique style and vocal signature, Naomis voice has been called cool and powerful and her songwriting masterful.
Naomi Hooley combines the melodic sensibilities of the great folk writers of the 70s like Jim Croce, Gordon Lightfoot, and James Taylor and combines that with vocal abilities of Adele, Neko Case, or Annie Lennox.
Robs musical background brings a whole other set of sounds and influences. A founding member of Portlands beloved roots rock combo The Baseboard Heaters, Rob draws on 60s rock and classic country influences and is also informed by the Oklahoma sound of JJ Cale and the bluesy sides of Dylan. Together they cover a lot of ground and meld together in a very cohesive and polished act.

Concerts benefit the Long Beach Peninsula Acoustic Music Association, a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization.
