Rawlins Cross (NL) Since the late 1980s Rawlins Cross has been one of Canada's most accomplished and beloved East Coast bands, fusing traditional Celtic with rock, pop and worldbeat sounds. Songwriting brothers Dave Panting (guitar and mandolin) and Geoff Panting (keyboards and accordion) are joined by Ian McKinnon (highland pipes and tin whistle), Brian Bourne (bass), Howie Southwood (drums) and Joey Kitson (vocals). Consistent fan favourites on the North American and European concert and festival circuits, they are touring on the heels of their 2017 EP Rock Steady, and return to the CFC after debuting in 2012. A must-see show if you prefer your kitchen parties shaken, not stirred. www.RawlinsCross.com
First Up: The BelleRegards (ON) The BelleRegards formed in Toronto in 2012 as a four-piece band that has since reinvented itself as a stripped-down duo in the form of Matthew Kingsley and Melanie Hilmi. Catchy, atmospheric, upbeat folk songs are the essence of the signature sound youll find on their excellent third album, Jameson Lake (2016). www.BelleRegards.com
