Persian Fusion/Jazz Concert
Join us for a night of beautiful live Middle Eastern music combined with jazz/fusion, led by Nima Hafezieh. In this performance, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the music of renowned concert pianist and composer Nima Hafezieh and his band featuring Aydin Kiasat on the kamancheh and Artem Zinin on bass guitar. We are also honored to present Bay Area-based vocalist Behrouz Haghighi ,who will be singing pop and traditional Persian songs in celebration of Persian culture.

About Nima Hafezieh: Nima Hafezieh, composer,pianist and music pedagogue was born on December 13, 1994 in Iran. He commenced to study Persian traditional and western classical music repertoire and clavier instruments when he was four years old. He took private lessons in music theory, composition and piano performance from great music instructors in Shiraz, his hometown and Tehran, where he continued his higher education later.

Nima has performed at numerous concerts and recitals in Iran and recently in the US, in collaboration with different bands and ensembles in Classical, Flamenco, Jazz, and World music styles.

At eight years of age, Nima was introduced as a brilliant talented artist and was awarded a piano by former president of Iran, Mohammad Khatami. When he was 15, he was accepted to Tehran Music School to continue his education in piano performance and composition, where he studied piano with Dr. Tamara Dolitze and music theory and composition with Mestro Hossein Pishkar, Dr. Mohammad Taghi Zarrabi and Maestro Nima Gooran who each greatly influenced his understanding of aesthetics in music and performing and composing  Techniques.
He practiced composition and performance in Baroque, classic, romantic and contemporary music.

He received his first degree in piano performance in 2011 and acquired his associate degree in fine arts in 2012.
Later, he received the highest score in a live audition for composition and piano upon the entrance exam of Art University of Tehran, where he graduated with a BA in composition in winter of 2017.

Nima finished his study of Piano Performance under the supervision of Dr. Tamara Dolitze and Maestro, Mohammad-Reza Laka, and music theory and composition under tutelage of Dr. Mohammad-Reza Tafazzoli, Maestro David Jafari and Maestro Karen Keyhani.

Nima  has been working as a music instructor and piano teacher since 2012. He is working as a music transcriber and academic adviser in support of young musicians and music students.

As a well-educated musician, his expertise are specialized in Improvisation in a wide range of different styles, music dictation in polyphonic and  micro-tonal and  atonal language, analysis of music aesthetics and understanding of music architecture and its relationship with the other dimensions of art and science. https://nimahafezieh.com/

About Behrouz Haghighi: Behrouz Haghighi became fascinated with Persian music, and he started singing at the age of three. At the age of ten, he started performing in celebration events in his school in Tehran. After graduating
from high school, he left Iran for higher education, and he moved to Austria. In 1987 Behrouz left Austria to the United States and he has been living in the Bay Area since then.

During this time, he met Maestro Akbar Mohseni and he started taking vocal lessons from maestro Mohseni who had a great
influence on Behrouzs musical artistry. It's worth mentioning that Maestro Mohseni has composed unforgettable masterpieces such as Elaheye Naz and Mara Booseyi deh." At the same time, Behrouz had the pleasure to meet Maestro Bahman Azadi, with whom he developed a strong and long-lasting musical relationship. Maestro Azadi is well known for composing memorable songs for legendary singers like Marzieh, Elahe, Ahdieh, and Fereidoon Farokhzad.

In early 1990s Behrouz performed in multiple Persian classical concerts at San Jose state university and other Bay Area concert halls with Daylaman classical orchestra.Also, he collaborated with various local Persian pop bands in San Francisco Galleria. Around the same years, Behrouz released his first album in the name of Gol which is a wonderful collection of Persian music, that was composed by Maestro Bahman Azadi.
