TWIN CITIES June 8, 2018 Minnesotas favorite comic son is having a banner year! And hes coming home for a string of shows in intimate rooms with limited seating later this month. Louie Anderson, who went from often telling jokes about his real mom to becoming one on a popular, award-winning TV show, has already delivered a mega burst of creativity before the year is even half over with projects ranging from TV to DVD to books. Not to mention a busy schedule of stand-up performance across the country.
Andersons creative comedic joyride continues! Let us count the ways:
1)The show Baskets received a recent Season 4 Renewal at FX TV, which earned the Big Man an Emmy the first season for his touching and offbeat portrayal of Christine Baskets, a matronly figure whose son -- played by Zach Galifianakos cant get his act together.
2) BIG UNDERWEAR: Andersons new DVD of his new comedy special was taped on November 12, 2017, at the Palace Theatre in Los Angeles, California, and finds Louie reflecting on his experiences traveling across the country, and his journey to a healthier lifestyle. Whether discussing what to do with his massive collection of big underwear or looking back on the hilarious details of his parents idiosyncrasies, the St. Paul native keeps his audience in an uproar.
3) And just in time for Mothers Day this year, he released a new book his fourth! Hey Mom! Stories for My Mother, But You Can Read Them Too, sharing how hes turned lifes challenges into joy and the abundance of the wisdom hes still discovering from his late mother. A perfect bookend to his New York Times best-selling Dear Dad: Letters from an Adult Child.
