If you enjoyed the World Championship Abalone Cook-Off you will not want to miss the Mendocino Area Parks Association's (MAPA) new event. MAPA has always taken pride in providing a unique and rewarding experience at the Abalone Cook-Off, and MAPA will be putting that same pride into our new event, The Mendocino Ocean & Seafood Fair.
Now in South Noyo Headlands Park; on Saturday October 6th, 2018 (10/6/18); still with Great Food, Mendocino County Wines, Beer from the North Coast Brewery, Music by Steven Bates Band, Silent Auction and Craft Fair. Chefs will be creating their very best seafood recipes for you to taste, with an emphasis on sustainability: farm raised abalone, locally caught rock fish, uni (sea urchin), sea weed and other surprises. A carnival, fun fair, atmosphere will be created in South Noyo Headlands Park.
In addition, MAPA will be partnering with other local organizations who are working to preserve and protect our Ocean and the resources we all depend on; for our coastal economy, for our health and well-being, and for the health of the planet we all call home.
Your MAPA membership allows you to purchase advance discount ticket vouchers**. Non-members can purchase vouchers after July 1st. At the event your vouchers will be exchanged for a strip of ten (10) fair tickets to spend as you choose for seafood tastes, drinks, Fair T-shirts, games and more. Come early to get the best selection! A limited number of Fair tickets will be printed to ensure that everyone gets to taste a selection of recipes and enjoy the Fair. The Fair will not sell out, but the Fair tickets could. To purchase member discounted ticket vouchers you will need to have your MAPA membership number or "discount code".
This event is the main fundraiser produced by and for the Mendocino Area Parks Association (MAPA) to support natural and cultural history programs in the State Parks of Mendocino County, as well as park improvement projects, park advocacy, and the operation of Standish-Hickey State Recreation Area.
