DJ Taye with Purple Orange Beach, Andrew Broder and Ghostband @ Honey
Chicago footwork producer DJ TAYE made his name as one of the youngest artists affiliated with the Teklife crew, which he joined in 2010. Born in 1994, he began making hip-hop beats and rapping at age 11, and was introduced to the sounds of DJ Rashad and DJ Spinn in 2007. Entranced by the head-spinning beats, booming bass, and frantically cut-up samples, he began producing his own tracks in that style, and eventually racked up several digital releases and mix sessions. Tracks by Taye appeared on Hyperdub's 2014 compilations Hyperdub 10.1 and Next Life, and the label signed him, releasing his debut vinyl EP, Break It Down, the following year.

PURPLE ORANGE BEACH
Born and raised in Minneapolis MN, ANDREW BRODER has dedicated the better part of his thirty-plus years to carving out his own singular path in music. Andrew has spent time as a cutting and scratching battle DJ, a snotty punk rocker, a challenging and thoughtful improviser, soundtrack composer, working sideman, producer, remixer, beat-maker, poet, beauty creator, brutal noise-monger and above all a fearless, restless and provocative songwriter.
His work is a study in surprise and defying expectation. With his records as Fog, he re-defined the turntable as a compositional tool, and his contributions since to avant hip-hop, rock, jazz and noise have been equally engaging, and envelope-pushing. His lyrics are cutting and evocative, his melodies poignant and tart, and his curiosity leads him to unexpected juxtapositions in sound and image.
Currently, he is producing new work for his solo project Fog, fronts the rock band The Cloak Ox, creates detailed and immersive electronic music under his own name, makes beats for rappers and has his hand in numerous other projects and collaborations. In whatever genre or medium he works, he takes the listener somewhere they have never been, or makes them more keenly aware of somewhere they already are.

Calling to mind artists like AFX, Bogdan Raczynski, Venetian Snares and Luke Vibert with a string of well-received cassette releases on his own Valhallic imprint, Anticon-affiliated multi-instrumentalist Jon Davis (aka GHOSTBAND) has his own distinct methodology, blending 90s junglist sensibilities with tasteful accents of hip hop, techno, house, braindance, grime and dubstep. Strictly hardware to the core, Davis elaborates on his production feats live, brandishing samplers and drum machines to demonstrate the difference between the mechanical and the musical, what's merely cool and whats stone cold.
