Bolz Center Collegium 2018: 50 Years of Artful Leadership
The Bolz Center for Arts Administration is this country's premier MBA program with a specialized educational focus that links arts and business practice. Every other year during the Fall Semester, we invite our alumni, guest presenters, practitioners, and students from across the country to the Bolz Center Collegium for continued learning on current topics and trends in and outside of the arts and nonprofit sectors. In recent years, we have noticed a trend toward a Bolz education that leads our graduates and friends into business, nonprofit and education positions outside of the traditional arts. We are excited by this development and therefore, are endeavoring to program Collegium topics that span a broad spectrum of interest and connection to our alumni and friends, regardless of their involvement in the arts. It is this philosophy and approach that leads us to announce our exciting and timely Collegium topic for this year:

In this 3-hour training series, broken up into working groups for 90 minutes before and after lunch, we will help you explore the myriad ways organizations and their boards can be more strategic in their work, more welcoming of partners and new directors, and more inclusive and representative of the communities they serve. The goals or learning outcomes of this workshop include being able to:
Articulate the need for a governance committee in supporting and strengthening overall board performance and recruitment
Cultivate an appreciation for the role that diversity and inclusion play in strategic board recruitment
Demonstrate a working knowledge of the critical steps in the process of finding, recruiting, and engaging board members
Understand how to engage new potential board members in a way that sets them up for successful board service that meets both the organizations and the board members needs and expectations

5:00PM-7:00PM: Reception at Memorial Union, World Music Festival Music and dance from unique and unexpected parts of the world. This festival is a celebration of cultures and takes place on the famous Memorial Union Terrace.
6:00PM-9:00PM: Dinner and Programming at the Pyle Center Join our distinguished guests for a look back at the Bolz Centers fifty years of impact, and a peek into the future. Featuring music, an incredible view of Lake Mendota, and a delicious dinner.
SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 15 9:30AM-12:00pm: Family friendly brunch at Overture Center for the Arts This is the perfect chance for a mini-class reunion, or for a quick stop as you enjoy a football Saturday on State Street. Come and go as you wish! Kid friendly.
