FRANK VIGNOLA HOT JAZZ TRIO
- FEAT. VINNY RANIOLO AND JAN KNUSTON
Its been almost a year since Top Guitarist Frank Vignola catapulted into a tree from an off-road-vehicle in a tragic accident that nearly took his life. Enduring a long but steady recovery, Frank returns to the stage with Frank Vignolas Hot Jazz Guitar Trio, in collaboration with long-time touring partner Vinny Raniolo, and the young and talented Jan Knutson.

Frank Vignola, born December 30th, 1965, is one of the most extraordinary guitarists performing before the public today. His stunning virtuosity has made him the guitarist of choice for many of the worlds top musicians, including Ringo Starr, Madonna, Donald Fagen, Wynton Marsalis, Tommy Emmanuel, the Boston Pops, the New York Pops, and guitar legend Les Paul, who named Vignola to his Five Most Admired Guitarists List for the Wall Street Journal. Vignolas stellar technique explains why the New York Times deemed him one of the brightest stars of the guitar.

Vinny Raniolo's dynamic playing has brought him to 18 countries performing alongside Frank Vignola, Tommy Emmanuel, Vince Giordano, and Deana Martin. Raniolo has also been featured on three PBS Music shows including the heavily programmed Tommy Emmanuel and Friends, Frank Vignola's Four Generations of Guitar, and in the Music Gone Public series. Film and recording credits include soundtracks and on-screen appearances for HBO's Boardwalk Empire, Woody Allen's film Café Society and Martin Scorseses The Irishman.

Jan Knutson is an extremely versatile musician. This 19-year- old guitarist has performed at major venues across the country. Jan was a 2016 Strathmore Artist, was featured at the 2017 Richmond Folk Festival, and has had the honor of performing with such luminaries as Bucky Pizzarelli, Julian Lage, and Martin Taylor. Jan has recorded two solo CDs and currently studies with Rodney Jones at the Manhattan School of Music.

ULTRAFAUX
Ultrafaux is an acoustic powerhouse of two guitars and upright bass that has thrilled a wide variety of audiences from jazz festivals to concert halls & nightclubs since their first CD release in 2014. lead guitarists Michael Joseph harris and Sami Arefin trade dazzling leads and harmonize together on rich gypsy-inspired melodies.

Lead guitarist and composer Michael Joseph Harris made the front page of The Baltimore Sun Weekend section in 2016 and was named one of the top 10 artists in Baltimore by Baltimore Style Magazine that same year. He has performed at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Django By The Sea, Midwest Gypsy Swing Festival, Charm City Django Jazz Festival, The French Embassy, IMT Folk Series, Napa Valley Jazz Society, Django-A-Gogo, and they have toured throughout the United States, Europe, and Canada.

Ultrafaux will be celebrating the release of their newest CD at Django By the Sea!

YOUSSRA EL HAWARY GROUP
Youssra El Hawary and her five-piece band meld the sounds of Cairos underground with quirky acoustic charm, led by the sway and swagger of El Hawarys accordion. Her songs entwine French chanson and jazz to underscore an idiosyncratic artistic world. She became known in 2012 when her song El Soor (The Wall) went viral, and became an anthem of the Egyptian Revolution.

Her socially-aware, personal, and original music innovates as much in content as it does in style. In the half-decade since she became a slyly defiant sensation in the aftermath of the Egyptian revolution, El Hawary continues to be a bellwether of everyday life. With charismatic charm, her lithe compositions capture the stories of Cairo, and the charged alchemy of the Mediterranean basin that fuels her distinctive and soulful sound.

MATT DECHAMPLAIN TRIO
Pianist Matt DeChamplain has performed at the Monterey Jazz Festival, The Greater Hartford Festival of Jazz, Berks Jazz Festival, New Yorks JVC Jazz Festival, The Berklee Jazz Festival, The Kennedy Center, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and renowned jazz clubs such as Regatta Bar, Smalls, and Yoshis. In 2008, Matt was selected for the Betty Carter Jazz Ahead Program where he engaged in a two week intensive composition and performance workshop under the instruction of jazz luminaries Dr. Billy Taylor, Nathan Davis and Curtis Fuller culminating in three performances filmed live from the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. That same year he was part of a group lead by bassist Nat Reeves that toured New Ross, Ireland. In 2010, Matt participated as a semifinalist in the Martial Solal Jazz Piano Competition in Paris, France. Currently Matt holds a faculty position at the Hartt School (University of Hartford, Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz). He has also taught at the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts, led the big band at Glastonbury High School, and taught at the Artists Collective, the Litchfield Jazz Camp, and New Hampshires Jazz All State.

JASON ANICK TRIO
Talk to the abundantly gifted violinist and mandolin player Jason Anick and the phrase jazz without borders will invariably come up.  What the axiom means to Anick is a contemporary jazz that is stylistically inclusive in nature, a jazz that brings whatever it can to the party, unwilling to cut something out of the mix for fear of it not fitting prescribed boundaries. An inviting demonstration of the maxim in action can be found on Anicks recent release, United, which was picked by Downbeat Magazine as one of the top jazz albums of 2017.

One of the youngest violin professors at Bostons Berklee College of Music, Anick is considered a rising star in the world of jazz violin. Over the past few years, Jason has been focusing on arranging and composing for the Rhythm Future Quartet, which he started with Finnish guitarist Olli Soikkeli. With performances all over the U.S. and Europe, the Rhythm Future Quartet is rapidly becoming one of the preeminent Gypsy jazz groups in the country.

The Jason Anick Trio features guitarist Max O'Rouke and bassist Greg Loughman from the Rhythm Future Quartet. The group seamlessly blends swing, classical, and roots music into a uniquely original sound.
