Named after a hometown road with a history for larceny, Gretchen and The Pickpockets have become known for their unique blend of genres and their energetic live shows. Since banding together at the University of New Hampshire over a mutual love of jazz, soul and rock and roll, Gretchen & the Pickpockets have been sharing their sound with audiences all across the United States. Accolades the band has won include an Iguana Music Fund grant from Club Passim, the Best in State: New Hampshire award from the New England Music Awards 2015 and nominated for Best Pop Act in 2016, Best Rock Band from the Seacoast Spotlight Awards, Best Theme Song from the LA Webfest for the use of Free Sailin in the web series Staying in Boston"
The Hats are a heavy hitting, hook-filled indie rock band based out of Boston. Their music and stage presence are contagious! Inspired by a destructive and loss-heavy apartment fire in June of 2016, the Hats have cleaned up, streamlined and will be self-releasing their first full-length record since 2014 this Fall. Surprisingly, the band, who continue to live together, see the fire as something of a blessing, offering a chance to start fresh with a focus on the more important aspects of their music. The album will be the first to be released as The Hats. It will feature deeper, more eclectic lyrical subjects, and intricate arrangements from singer/songwriter, Patrik Gochez, as well as the lead vocals of keyboardist, Brittany Laine, and lead guitarist, Joey Pierog. Original members, bassist Brenden Harisiades, and drummer, Bobby Rice, offer a rhythm section more solid and creative than ever before.
Originally established as Pat & the Hats in 2012 to support the release of Gochez chamber-pop debut, Heavy Loader, the band released both a full-length record (Fake it till You Make a Hit 2014) and a follow up EP (Pat & the Hats 2016). They quickly became a regionally recognized name receiving a New England Music Award for Best Pop Act in 2014, a nomination in the same category in 2015, and accolades from regional press outlets in NH, MA, VT and beyond. The band has a polyglot of influences, from late 70s punk-pop to more modern acts like the Flaming Lips, all rooted in classic sensibility (M. Witthaus The Hippo Press). The diversity in the indie/pop-rock bands sound nudged them into a variety of showcases and festivals, sharing bills with Lucius, Lake Street Dive, and the late Charles Bradley. 2018 holds no lack of momentum for the freshly rebranded Hats, as they prepare for the release of their next full-length album.
Liz Bills is a vocal powerhouse, a dynamic songwriter and an empowering force who bares her heart for the world to see. In 2011 Liz formed a rock band called Analog Heart and began gigging all over New England. Later that year Liz Bills competed in American Idol and placed in the top 30 females in Hollywood, sharing the stage with legendary icons Mariah Carey, Keith Urban, Randy Jackson and Nicki Minaj. Analog Heart has gone on to share the stage with such acts as Bon Jovi, Daughtry, Will Dailey, Zach Deputy, Ryan Montbleau Band, Gary Hoey, The Brew, Kellie Picklier, Danielle Bradbery, Angie Miller, and Saving Abel, among many others. Liz Bills is embarking on a new journey with her debut solo EP. With it's acoustic uptempo guitars, djembe and haunting melodies, the self titled EP embodies a raw and honest version of the rock singer without losing her bite.
