A forest nymph, Mavka, falls in love with a mortal youth, Lukash, causing a dramatic clash between the world of carefree beauty of the forest and the world of humans, filled with jealousy, passion, rivalry, and evil. A rare English-language translation of one of the the most beloved works of Ukrainian classical literature, "Forest Song" includes mythological beings from Slavic folklore and an original score based on folk music from the Volyn region.
